As you know, our governor issued new closure recommendations for churches. After praying & seeking the advice of spiritual fathers, I have decided to continue to meet. This coming Sunday, The Refuge Community will meet at 10am.
Hebrews 10:24 teaches us that our Christian faith lives in community. Hebrews 10:24 expressly commands us not to neglect meeting together. Barna just published that only 35% of Christians are even still engaged in Church. We should never allow earthly governments to determine the expression of the kingdom of God. In Acts 4:19-20, Peter & John told the Sanhedrin that they would obey God and not men when their political leadership interfered with their ministry to Jesus Christ.
There is power in sacred spaces, corporate worship and in the Koinonia of the beloved. That is why I am encouraging you to come. In the First Century our forefathers & foremothers paid the ultimate price in the loss of their lives, choosing to worship Jesus as Lord as they were martyred in the Roman colosseums and circuses. They gave us an example that Jesus is Lord and not Caesar.
Our church family will be gathering to worship Jesus at 10am on the patio outside & inside in the sanctuary. You will not need to reserve your seat, because we will have 100 seats in social distance arrangements in the sanctuary and we will have a patio service outside.
Our patio will be set up with shade, a big screen to watch, and patio misters to keep you cool. You only need to bring your own comfy lawn chair.
Refuge is still cleaning according to CDC Guidelines & practicing social distancing. If you are at risk, we urge you to watch online.
God bless you, and do not let fear guide your life. Let each person attend as you are led. Come to church and worship the Lord Jesus who saves heals and delivers!
